At last, Apple has unveiled the latest iPhone generation, and Apple iPhone 13 is the standard model. There are several new features for us to get to know, so let's take a closer look and see what all the fuss is about.
In 2020, as with every autumn, Apple released the successful iPhone 12 range. Now, and with a lot to live up to, we've seen the introduction of four next-generation iPhone 13 models. The brand new smartphones in Apple's lineup are the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Let's take a look at the standard iPhone 13 model.
Not only did Apple reveal its new iPhone smartphone series at their recent Apple Event but they also introduced us to revamped Apple iPad tablet, iPad mini and Apple Watch Series 7.
New generations of phones are often judged by how much they have changed in terms of their external appearance. It's clear to see that iPhone 13 benefits from some nice aesthetic changes. When you look at the front, the narrower notch immediately catches the eye. And it's not just a cosmetic improvement—a reduced notch gives you more display to work and play with. You'll also notice more changes on the back of iPhone 13.
The redesigned iPhone 13 has a pair of rear cameras that are now positioned diagonally instead of in a column as they were on iPhone 12. There are also five different colour designs for you to choose from—Starlight, Midnight, Blue, Pink and (PRODUCT) RED.
The new generation's high-quality display is backed up by a higher maximum brightness of 800 nits for better readability in direct sunlight. Even though the display's diagonal is the same 6.1" as the previous model, a narrower notch gives you more screen space to use.
Higher computing power is inherent in new generations of iPhones. And this year, Apple is ready to impress with the mega-powerful A15 Bionic processor. The chip comes standard with an advanced 5nm manufacturing process, 6 cores and a more advanced neural unit. It's hard to find fault in any attribute of its overall performance. And let's not forget that Apple does a wonderful job of making sure subsequent iOS updates don't overload the phone, ensuring that your iPhone runs smoothly for years. Of course, new iPhones go on sale with iOS 15 pre-installed.
The new iPhone 13 generation delivers extended battery life across the board, which gives you up to hours of extra video playback from a single charge. This is further supported by energy-efficient components, including Apple's A15 Bionic processor. It's hard to imagine any user being upset by battery life, so good news all round!
How can you improve on the best mobile phone camera system? Well, Apple has done it again. iPhone 13 features a new diagonal dual-lens rear camera with 12Mpx Wide and Ultra Wide cameras. What's more, the standard iPhone 13 now features Sensor-Shift Stabilisation, which was previously only available on the most expensive iPhone 12 Pro Max. This feature stabilises the entire sensor instead of just the lens to deliver steadier shots with improved results.
You can edit photos playfully and professionally thanks to the presence of photographic styles. iPhone 13 also gains Cinematic Mode, which allows you to artfully blur the background not only when taking photos, but also when recording videos. You can use it at 1080p and 30fps—even when using the front-facing selfie camera.
In terms of connectivity and other features, iPhone 13 includes 5G mobile connectivity, NFC payments via Apple Pay, Wi-Fi 6 and Face ID. After last year's debut, we also welcome back the handy, magnetic range of MagSafe accessories. The 128GB version is the basic memory option with prices starting at 22990 CZK.
If you like the features but would prefer an even more compact phone, check out the iPhone 13 mini. If you want to take macro shots and appreciate a more dynamic display, go for the iPhone 13 Pro.
