Noctua NF-A12x25 LS PWM

Noctua NF-A12x25 LS PWM
The Noctua NF-A12x25 LS-PWM PC fan is aimed at computer builds with an emphasis on low noise. The LS-PWM (Low-Speed) variant, with a speed range of 450 to 1200rpm, is tailored for quiet systems and semi-passive cooling. Through its 4-pin connector, it supports fully automatic speed control and can stop completely at a 0% PWM signal, eliminating noise during low system loads. Its performance is enhanced by advanced technologies such as a Sterrox LCP composite rotor and second-generation SSO2 bearings.
Key features of the Noctua NF-A12x25 PC fan with LS PWM
- LS-PWM version is ideal for builds requiring quiet operation
- The fan stops completely at a zero PWM signal
- Rotor made from Sterrox LCP polymer composite
- Second-generation SSO2 bearings improve stability and extend lifespan
- AAO frame reduces vibrations with integrated pads
- Flow Acceleration Channels enhance airflow
Sterrox LCP material and minimal gap
The fan's rotor is made of Sterrox LCP polymer composite. This material has high tensile strength and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. These properties make it possible to create a record-breaking small gap between the blade tips and the inner frame. The reduced gap limits backflow and increases the fan's efficiency against static pressure, which builds up on the dense fins of heatsinks or water-cooling radiators.
Fan frame and bearings
The AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame with integrated anti-vibration pads made of soft silicone contributes to quiet operation. The frame also uses a stepped inlet design and microstructures on its inner surface. The first technology adds turbulence to the intake air for a smoother flow transition, while the second suppresses flow separation from the blades. The second-generation SSO2 bearings have the rear magnet placed closer to the axis, which improves stability, precision, and the overall lifespan of the rotor during long-term operation.
Optimised aerodynamics
The aerodynamic design focuses on a balanced P/Q curve, which defines the ratio between static pressure and airflow. The fan thus delivers consistent performance in applications requiring high airflow as well as those with high resistance, such as CPU coolers or water-cooling radiators. The rotor blades have channels on the suction side to accelerate the airflow, which limits unwanted flow separation from the blade surface. The motor hub is reinforced with a metal structure for greater precision and stability.
