GeForce GTX 1080
NVIDIA's new product series delivers unprecedented graphical performance, now in 4K resolution.
16nm chip
The new Pascal GP104 chip, consisting of 7.2 billion transistors, runs at a considerably higher frequency compared to previous generations.
VR support
The card calculates multiple views of the same scene simultaneously, helping to achieve fantastic results in virtual reality applications.
Groundbreaking modern platform
The Pascal GP104 graphics chip features 2560 CUDA cores, accompanied by 160 texture units. The chip is clocked at 1607 MHz, though it reaches an impressive 1733 MHz with Boost Mode.
Virtual reality has never been so close
A new manufacturing process enables faster throughput for the new GDDR5X memory modules, which translates into a big leap forward in VR technology support. The memory is clocked at a staggering 10 GHz.
Overall, you can expect up to 3 times faster performance when using VR applications.
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming Premium Pack
The GIGABYTE design squeezes every last drop of power from the Pascal chip. We recommend switching the card into OC mode, where the chip runs at 1784 MHz, reaching 1936 MHz in Boost Mode. This wouldn’t be possible without a well-designed cooler, and GeForce GTX 1080 has just that. WindForce Stack 3X is fitted with three 100 mm fans. These fans have a unique blade design and a double ball bearing structure. The stacked design has the centre fan recessed and the fins of the other two fans stacked above it. The centre fan also spins in the reverse direction to double airflow and dissipate the heat more effectively. Two dense heatsink stacks are interwoven with six composite heat pipes, making direct contact with the GPU.
Supplied utility for advanced settings
If your PC has transparent side panels, you have another reason to buy this particular model. The back of the card sports the GIGABYTE logo, whose LED backlight you can personally customise using the supplied program. And when the fan in a completely passive mode, you get a strikingly illuminated FAN STOP sign.
Premium equipment for great VR
This model come with a number of interesting extras. First, there is a new SLI bridge type for connecting a second card of the same type. The pack includes a 5.25" drive bay and two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports. The rear panel carries two HDMI 2.0b ports. A wristband with the Extreme Gaming logo and a cool mousepad are just the cherry on top.
