AlzaCafé

AlzaCafé Guatemala - Highland 100% Arabica

Taste AlzaCafé Guatemala beans from the Huehuetenango region, which is located at the foot of the Cuchumatanes, the highest non-volcanic mountain range in Central America and offers almost ideal conditions for growing high-quality coffee. The coffee beans are then roasted in the Czech Republic directly "to the centre", when the taste of roasting can already be felt, but at the same time the coffee retains its original taste. This bean is dominated by a balanced yet delicate taste of caramel, apples and walnuts, as well as a rich aroma. AlzaCafé Guatemala coffee is always freshly roasted based on current demand, so we guarantee that it will reach you in absolutely perfect condition.

This style of roasting ends just before the second crack, when the beans are already completely unified in colour and roasted. City Roast is typically slightly darker in colour than Light Roast, but still retains some of the characteristics of a lighter roast, such as higher acidity and a milder flavour profile. Coffee roasted to City Roast grade presents a balanced combination of sweetness, acidity and full body.

The fruit of the coffee tree is exclusively hand-picked

AlzaCafé Guatemala coffee beans come from the Huehuetenango region at the foot of the Cuchumatanes, the highest non-volcanic mountain range in Central America. It is through this area that currents of hot air from the Mexican Tehuantepec plain flow. This is very important as it protects the coffee trees from frost, which has a positive effect on their growth. The abbreviation SHB (Strictly High Bean) indicates that the beans were grown at altitudes above 1 350 m above sea level. m., where the coffee fruit is exclusively hand-picked and the farms even hire experienced pickers who pick only ripe and high-quality fruit. After harvesting, the fruit is put into the so-called "baking jar". mills and washed, which removes the skins and pulp. After this step, the berries are left to ferment for 22 hours, and finally the grains are left to dry in direct sunlight.
