I guess there is nothing to be done about the refrigerant gurgling and the compressor sound, so this device just works. I hope that the sound of the compressor has nothing to do with how Alza treated the unit when it was delivered and placed in the box.
It works
The dehumidifier was making a loud rattling/rattling noise. I found that the sensor magnet in the float in the water container was loose - I don't know if it was a smaller magnet by mistake or what the cause was. The problem disappeared when I inserted a piece of the blue packing tape that was used to seal the container in the body of the device into the holder around the magnet.
I'm not sure if the manufacturer could have used a quieter compressor.
Alza put the device in my box flat, even though it was clearly stated on the package that it should not be knocked. It is the same equipment as a refrigerator, air conditioner, etc. Someone should educate the staff on how to handle the heat pump equipment.
