The Philips Smart LED HDMI 2.1 Sync Box Kit connects four-sided LED backlighting to the picture from an HDMI source. The sync box processes the video in real time and adjusts the lighting colours to match, so light effects accompany films, video games, sport and other content. HDMI 2.1 supports 4K resolution at 120Hz and 8K at 60Hz. The kit is designed for TVs with a screen size of 55 to 65". Control and setup are handled by the WiZ app for Android and iOS. The backlighting allows for colour gradients as well as white light and supports dimming.

Picture and Light Synchronisation
The sync box allows you to match the TV's backlighting with video content fed through HDMI. The lighting effects react to the content being played in real time and expand the picture with ambient lighting. HDMI 2.1 supports 4K resolution at a 120Hz refresh rate and 8K at 60Hz. Synchronisation can be used when watching films, playing video games, watching sports broadcasts and other video content. Other compatible smart lights can be synchronised with the system, and an HDMI switch can be used to connect multiple HDMI devices.
Light Adjustment and Smart Control
The WiZ app is used to set up the backlighting and offers preset sync modes, including Film and Relaxation. The individual modes allow you to adjust the brightness and colour of the lighting effects according to the content you are watching. The four-sided LED backlighting creates colour combinations, and the technical specification states colour gradients as well as RGBICW white light with a colour temperature of 2700 to 6500K. The lighting supports dimming and dynamic effects. Control is provided by the WiZ app or voice commands via Google and Alexa, and the lights can be set to turn on and off automatically with the TV.
Installation and Connection
Installation begins by attaching the four-sided backlighting to the TV and connecting the sync box. Video content is fed into the system via the HDMI input. The sync box then ensures the video content is linked with the TV backlighting. The WiZ app is used for control and setup, and wireless connection is via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The system can be further expanded with compatible smart lighting and, if using multiple HDMI devices, an HDMI switch.
