The monocrystalline solar cells used achieve an efficiency of 22.4%, allowing them to effectively convert sunlight into electrical energy. The panel's double-sided design can utilise not only the light falling directly on the front, but also some of the radiation reflected from the surrounding surface onto the back. The amount of energy gained depends on the intensity of the sun, the position of the panel and the surrounding conditions. An angle of approximately 45° helps to create suitable conditions for efficient solar radiation capture. The solar cells are protected by a multi-layer construction designed for regular outdoor use. The top ETFE layer offers 95% light transmittance and is also resistant to scratches and high temperatures. This is followed by an impact-absorbing EVA layer, monocrystalline silicon cells and a durable fabric back layer. The construction thus combines efficient light capture with the necessary protection for the panel.
