Vipow BAT0216 Gel Battery 12V, 12Ah

The Vipow BAT0216 gel battery serves as a power source with a nominal voltage of 12V and a capacity of 12Ah. Thanks to its gel technology, it offers a lifespan of up to 500 charge cycles and is suitable for powering uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and other similar devices. The battery is equipped with an F1 type connector. Its internal resistance when fully charged is 14mΩ, which supports efficient power delivery.

Operating modes and battery charging

The battery is designed for two main operating modes. For float charging, typical for backup power supplies, a voltage range of 13.6–13.8V is recommended. In cyclic mode, where the battery is regularly discharged and charged, a voltage of 14.5–14.9V should be used. The maximum initial charging current should not exceed 3.6A, which protects the cell and extends its overall lifespan of 500 charge cycles. These parameters apply at a standard temperature of 25°C.

Effect of temperature and discharge rate on capacity

The nominal capacity of 12Ah is specified for a 20-hour discharge. With faster energy consumption, the available capacity decreases – for example, with a 5-hour discharge, it drops to 10.1Ah, and with a one-hour discharge, to 7.2Ah. The battery's performance is also affected by the ambient temperature. At 40°C, the capacity reaches up to 102% of the nominal value, while at a temperature drop to 0°C, it falls to 85%. In freezing conditions at -15°C, approximately 62% of the capacity is available.
