Vembu BDRShield Hyper-V Backup & Replication per VM 3Y
Vembu BDRShield Hyper-V Backup & Replication per VM 3Y
Vembu BDRShield Hyper-V Backup & Replication per VM software is a comprehensive tool for backing up and recovering virtual machines running in a Microsoft Hyper-V environment. This three-year subscription licensing model provides corporate and home IT infrastructures with the tools to protect data from hardware failures and cyber threats. This system protects virtual machines from data loss through centralised management and automated, agentless processes with no need to install agents on individual guests. The Instant Boot VM feature lets you run a virtual machine directly from a backup within minutes on Hyper-V, VMware, or KVM platforms. Microsoft VSS technology ensures consistent backups of Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and Active Directory applications with automatic transaction log truncation. This system enables the recovery of individual files and folders without having to reconstruct the entire virtual disk.
Key features of Vembu BDRShield Hyper-V Backup & Replication per VM, 3Y software
- Agentless protection for virtual machines without installing agents
- Full support for cluster environments including CSV and S2D
- Incremental backups utilising Microsoft Resilient Change Tracking technology
- Data storage on local storage and public clouds
- Instant Boot VM runs virtual machines directly from backup storage
- Data transfer security secured by AES-256 encryption
- Immutable storage protects backups from ransomware attacks
Incremental backups with RCT technology
The backup process runs completely without installing software agents inside running virtual machines. This approach significantly reduces the load on system resources and simplifies overall infrastructure management. The solution supports Microsoft Hyper-V versions 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and Windows Server operating systems from version 2012 up to version 2022. The solution supports cluster configurations including CSV, S2D, SMB sharing, and Scale-Out File Server. The backup system effectively uses Microsoft Resilient Change Tracking technology to precisely track changes in data blocks. For older hypervisor versions, a proprietary Changed Block Tracking driver is available, which performs the same function at host level. These mechanisms shorten backup times and minimise network data transfer volume. Synthetic full backups are created directly in the storage without putting a load on production servers.
Flexible storage
Store backed up data in a wide range of local and remote destinations to suit your current organisational needs. Supported local storage includes NAS and SAN disk arrays, tape drives, or deduplication appliances. You can use your own cloud storage such as AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud, MinIO, or Wasabi. End-to-end AES-256 encryption ensures the security of stored data with the option to use your own key. The security architecture includes mechanisms to protect data from deletion or encryption by malicious software. Immutable storage prevents unauthorised data modification, while multi-factor authentication protects access to the administration console.
Simple implementation and management
Deploy the entire system in just a few minutes thanks to a centralised management console that requires no complex setup. The administrator simply adds standalone Hyper-V hosts or clusters, defines backup schedules, and sets data retention rules. Users get clear job reports and automatic email notifications about successful or failed operations. This software performs automatic recoverability testing by running the virtual machine in an isolated environment and emails a screenshot as proof of functionality.
