The TP-Link EAP620 HD with Omada is a ceiling-mounted WiFi access point designed for high-density client networks, such as offices, hotels, or schools. The device uses the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard and offers a combined transfer speed of up to 1775Mb/s, split between 1201Mb/s on the 5GHz band and 574Mb/s on the 2.4GHz band. Integrated OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies increase network capacity by up to four times compared to older standards, which supports smooth operation for multiple connected devices simultaneously. Full integration into the Omada SDN platform enables centralised management, which simplifies network configuration and monitoring, either locally or via the cloud. Thanks to its ultra-slim design, measuring 160 × 160 × 33.6mm, and the included mounting kit, the access point can be discreetly mounted on a ceiling or wall.

High performance with Wi-Fi 6
The access point operates on the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard and offers a total transfer speed of up to 1775Mb/s. It reaches speeds of 1201Mb/s on the 5GHz band and 574Mb/s on the 2.4GHz band. To serve a large number of devices in high-density environments, it uses MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies, which increase overall network throughput and efficiency. Four internal antennas with a gain of 4dBi for 2.4GHz and 5dBi for 5GHz, along with Beamforming technology, direct the signal straight to the clients.
Centralised management and Mesh
You manage the device via the Omada SDN platform, which unifies network elements into a single interface. Users can use the web interface, the Omada mobile app, or centralised cloud management. The Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) feature simplifies the initial configuration for mass deployments. Wi-Fi Mesh technology supports the wireless connection of multiple units to create a unified network, while seamless roaming (802.11k/v) ensures clients switch smoothly between points without any connection drop.
Advanced security and access management
The access point uses a robust set of security tools to protect the corporate network. In addition to WPA3 encryption, it also offers the WPA2-Enterprise and WPA-Enterprise standards. A separate network and Captive Portal with various authentication methods are used for guest access management. Other security features include MAC address filtering, wireless client isolation, SSID to VLAN mapping for network segmentation, rogue AP detection, and support for the 802.1X standard for port-level authentication.
Connectivity and power options
For network connection, it uses a single Gigabit Ethernet port (RJ-45) that supports both 802.3at PoE+ and passive PoE (48V). This flexibility simplifies installation, as you don't need to run separate power cables. Alternatively, the package includes a 12V DC adapter to power the device.
