The clock is very nice and has a large clear display which is controlled by 2 AA pencil batteries and three C batteries for the backlight which has three functions on eco off backlight on all night and day with only an adapter which unfortunately is not supplied.
You can hang the clock on the wall or on the stand that is in the back to put it on the table
