I've been using Synology NAS for a long time, this new one was a replacement for a bigger and faster one with the ability to insert 2 drives with RAID setup (higher capacity/reliability). The basic packages include FTP, cloud, mail server, camera connection and recording, etc., so there is no need to purchase additional software for standard use. The drive may not be quite the right thing for large companies, but for home and small businesses it's plenty adequate. I recommend it.

Totally awesome. I've owned a DS215j for almost 10 years now, which is an older model of the same layout and focus. There have never been problems, it has always worked as expected, and until recently, updates landed not only with fixes but also with new features, which is now rare even with the most expensive mobile phones.
The DS223j increased the RAM from 512MB to 1GB for the first time since the DS215j, which was probably its biggest limitation, so I decided to upgrade. So I was a bit disappointed that the tool for convenient complete migration (data, applications, settings) to a newer model is only available for models from the + series, so I had to migrate in a less convenient and partly manual way. But if it works as well for the next 10 years, I have no regrets.
Otherwise, the control interface is amazing and really detailed. I wish Microsoft would learn from them.
