I replaced the headphones with Blackshark v2 pro, which were comfortable, but after years the battery started to die. According to the earlier reviews, I was afraid that these headphones would press into my ears because of the ANC dials inside the headphones. I received a revised version, produced in April 2024, which has already reduced ANC, so nothing is pushing into my ears. Despite this, I ordered replacement ear cushions from Wicked cushions, which are even better. I am afraid that the attached leather earmuffs would overheat the ears in summer. As for the ANC itself, it's quite a shame, I hardly know any difference with and without it on - using ANC at home seems to me totally unnecessary anyway. If someone is deciding which version to take, I recommend X, because it is really universal - the hub itself supports xbox + pc, pc, mac, switch, unlike PS and PC versions. Otherwise, the characteristics are exactly the same for all types, including frequencies, microphones, etc.

I found the sound quality lackluster right out of the box. Even though I'm a barbarian, their speech managed to actively bore me. The ANC is fine and I was pleased - it was just two years ago. I've since gotten the AirPods Pro 2 and later the Sony WH-1000XM5, which not only have better sound, but in terms of ANC, they humiliate the SteelSeries in a way where you almost want to stand up for them. But SteelSeries has something the premium competition doesn't - durability. ANC works even after two years, the sound can be boring, but definitely not bad. And even if they are not comfortable on the head, it's more of a comparison to the competition - if I take away the relative comfort, they can be worn all day without any problem. The workmanship doesn't dazzle with metal and premium materials - but what it loses in looks, it makes up for in purpose. To illustrate: The Sony XM5 may have been great, but they fell apart after a year. In contrast, twice older SteelSeries work without a problem. What I really loved, though, is the wireless station and its ability to mix input from two sources (computers or mobile). And the price? I bought them in 2023 and I certainly don't regret it - but through the lens of 2025, they can be seen as a 53-year-old Jagr who stubbornly refuses to retire. In terms of price/performance. I think I could find better alternatives.
