I wanted to switch from a full-size sound system - Denon AVR1700 receiver and Magnat speakers (including center and subwoofer) - to a soundbar, because of the new furniture in the living room, where the column speakers no longer fit. I thought soundbars had advanced a lot, and that this would be a sufficient replacement. Just 5 min of testing and it was clear - this soundbar is not even close to the original setup - the sound is so tinny, without bass, just much worse. So I returned the soundbar and bought Polk Audio speakers (Signature ES20 and ES35 centre) and DLS Flatsub Midi subwoofer, which can be hung on the wall and hidden behind the TV. The sound system is now a bit better than on the Magnats (20+ years old) - compared to a soundbar it's like comparing a Trabant to a Mercedes. For someone switching from TV-only sound to soundbar, it can be a huge leap, but once you try a full-size receiver and boxes, there's no going back.

This is my first experience with soundbars. Previously we only had pure TV sound (Samsung Q80C) and you can really tell the difference. It's almost like a movie theater. The first film I watched was Jurassic Park (1993) and the scene where the Brachiosaurus hits the ground nearly took my breath away and knocked over the glasses on the coffee table. And even with such an "old" film, the 3D sound was beautifully audible.

it's not a soundbar fault but Dolby Atmos doesn't work in movies/serials that are in Czech (polished movies usually have only 5.1 sound). therefore it is necessary to set the rear boxes (which are behind my head) as the front ones and then they play well and the sound surrounds me (the same works for the music I have in the clusters)
