Keeping this one short and sweet: I was sceptical about buying a new PSU from a new OEM supply, especially from Microstar's own brand as it was untried and untested with the launch being so recent so I took a gamble and went with the MSI MPG 850w.
I'm glad to say it paid off wonderfully, I've been using this PSU for four months now and have been running an MSI B550 Gaming Carbon Wifi, Ryzen 5800x at 4.8Ghz turbo clocked and an MSI RTX 3080 Gaming Z Trio almost flat out with 8 system fans, an NZXT Kraken Z53 AIO, 3 RGB controlers and 6 SSDs and it's still pushing out flawless performance with zero issues.
The fan seems pretty quiet from what I can hear with a slight, barely audible coil whine but with the kind of brutal loads I've been putting it under I'm just shocked it's been able to keep up and so far, touch wood has been absolutely bulletproof.
In summary, I'm glad I took the dive. It's a decent workhorse PSU with a good OEM build standard as are most branded higher output gaming PSUs right now. It seems to hold down strong powerloads well from my initial testing and use.
Also, for those saying it "isn't compatible with some AM4 motherboards", please be aware that the extra 4-pin power connector for your board IS NOT required and you will 9/10 times never need it. The extra 4-pin connector on your board is for extreme overclocking use only and you can use the board perfectly without connecting the extra 4-pin without any drawbacks. Unless you buy a PSU that is double or triple the price with a dedicated 4-pin attached and a great deal higher wattage overhead then you will almost certainly find one as standard on a PSU at this wattage or price range.
Definately reccomended. It's a very good OEM rebrand and worth the money.
