It's functional, but the temperature maintenance on the tip reacts so slowly that if you're going to solder something bigger, you have to manually set it to max anyway, otherwise you'd have to keep it there for a minute before it reacts and increases the power itself, but it kind of makes sense considering that the temperature sensor is about a few cm from the tip, I don't know how the expensive ones are designed, but for home tinkering it's fine. The temperature maintenance at least makes sure that it won't bake unnecessarily if you are not soldering and have it on, which is a problem with stupid soldering stations.

Imho, who writes in reviews that the tip does not heat up -> can not work with the spider and the spider station -> after each spider spun the tip etc.
For the price, great. For example. in comparison with Parkside in the category of the cheapest spiders, this one is absolutely easy to work with and can handle what you need from it, of course in this price category, it would be stupid to compare it with a station for 5k+

IT DOES NOT WORK - it heats everywhere but the end of the tip. I have it set to maximum and not a single connector can be connected. The tip can barely melt rosin. I bought it because of the positive reviews. I really don't know what the problem is.

it does not keep the temperature, every time it reaches the desired temperature it stops heating up, you have to wait even a minute before it recovers and reaches the desired temperature. again, but only me for a while and the cycle repeats
I am so happy with this soldering station that I have to write a review about it even after 3 years. At this price, it's a much better choice than any Chinese copy in this price range. The temperature setting is accurate enough and fast enough, the tip end heats up well and the pen materials don't deteriorate even after 3 years, I can't say that about the Chinese one. I've powered countless projects with this Extool with small and larger electronics and I'm only on the second tip.
