I spent a long time deciding which speaker to buy (Bang Olufsen, Sonos or Bose, JBL no, because I didn' t want an over-bass speaker) until I finally chose the A1 2nd Gen from Bang & Olufsen. Right out of the box, I said that the product is at the quality level of Apple, using only two materials, aluminum and rubberized plastic, thumbs up. I had nothing to add and I was glad that I chose this particular model. After the first pairing (through the B & O app) I installed the update, although the iPhone showed 2 minutes until the end of the update, but it took almost 20 minutes, but I take it, I was in no rush. When I started the A1 for the first time, I found the sound to be a little different from what I normally listen to, beautifully clear mids and highs and the bass was not over-bassed. A bit of a shock for me at first because I like reasonable bass, but after two days I got used to it and it was an incredible difference when you understand every word in a song in English and the bass is just right. This will not happen to you with another speaker. Even at maximum volume, the speaker' s performance was unrivaled. If someone wanted to set the equalizer in the app, they can, I always used optimal. Sometimes during playback, the speaker disconnected, songs stopped playing and did not start playing by themselves, but after pressing the play button, the music started again. I thought it must be some kind of disturbance in our house. Unfortunately, I started to notice that it started to happen more often when the speaker was right next to the iPhone that was sending the signal to it. I tried it on Apple 12 Pro Max, 7 plus and on MacBook Pro 16 2021 and everywhere the problem became more and more frequent. Unfortunately after this experience I had to return the speaker and I am very sorry because the sound was fantastic and I recommend everyone to at least listen to it. If I knew that it was only my piece' s fault, I would order a different one, but the same type. But I' ve already read one review here on alga that it was also happening on conference calls, so it won' t be an isolated case. I was also looking at the Bang Olufsen Explorer, but the sound is already crazy and I wouldn' t get used to it. I' ll try the Sonos Roam, which probably won' t be the worst in terms of sound (for its size), but I' m quite annoyed that it' s all plastic and the grill isn' t even metal: (. On the other hand, if the bluetooth doesn' t drop out or some other problem, I' ll give it a go and hope that the sound will be on the same level as the A1 2nd Gen.
