I also have the older version and I'm happy with both. I think it's a good choice. I haven't tried the cloning feature. I just have a comment regarding the complaints about the performance of the included power supply. You need to check how many amps the inserted drives require. I have a WD 400GB from 2005 which needs 1.55A, whereas a Seagate 2TB drive from 2012 only needs 0.83A, and a WD Ultrastar 20TB from 2025 needs 1.2A! When I inserted two of those WD400 drives, the included 2.5A power supply couldn't handle it. I guess the manufacturer doesn't expect people to be using twenty-year-old drives.
Each drive is displayed separately, which saves USB ports.
Copying speed for large files between discs is about 210MB/s
copying large files to the SSD in my PC at about 250MB/s
It has the clone button next to the power button and the buttons are not very distinct, so it's easy to get them mixed up.
