The cooler is much quieter than water cooling (where the pump is still active and even the quieter versions blow quite a bit under load). With this heatsink i9 12900K under load immediately jumps to 100C (at least one core but in most cases more) and temp throttle occurs which immediately reduces CPU performance. The 100C display and subsequent temp throttle happens at each new maximum CPU load (e.g. after the rendering is turned on), so the processor suffers and performance is reduced quite a bit. The water cooling (Corsair H100i Elite LCD) keeps the processor at 290W at ~90C° stable, sometimes the power consumption drops only minimally (a couple of tens of Watts) and never below the intel-set 240W in the long run. CPU never reached more than ~90C. Arctic Freezer i35 couldn't even maintain 240W at a reasonable temperature, and the power dropped permanently to 150-170W due to temp throttle, as the CPU got to 100C° shortly after the rendering started. Tested with multiple dwarfing pastes with the same results.
