The Bravia 8A is a very good version of the 8 series, especially for the price. And yet no shabby high-end SONY OLED TV, with great features and a well-integrated Google TV OS. A really great picture with a thin frame, perfect black colour, and with the traditional huge adjustment and calibration possibilities of SONY. Excellent sound even without an external sound system. Excellent HDR, 3 levels of Dolby Vision and Imax Enhanced calibration. Sony Pictures Core video service for 12 months with 4K HDR, IMAX Enhanced and DTS audio (Doby Atmos) content in BluRay quality. Here I would point out that enabling streaming at 80 Mbps in the "Core service" settings actually often goes well over 100 Mbps. The built-in, Fast Ethernet-only card then fails. That's if you don't get some high-speed WiFi. In this case, it is then necessary to use an external USB3-Gigabit Ethernet adapter. Also essential for home projection of your own 4K or 8K sources e.g. from the NAS to the LAN. In this price range otherwise probably without fault.
great picture premium OLED
cooperation with Sony HT-A7000 soundbar, Dolby Atmos functional
high quality center channel sound directly from the OLED screen (Acoustic Surface) using "S-CENTER speaker"
well-tuned Google TV OS
traditionally massive image calibration options
SONY PICTURES CORE service with Pure Stream and IMAX® Enhanced
Advanced settings for Dolby Vision
well-designed stand with 3 different leg attachment options
back wall plugs for placing the TV in the space as well
highlighting dialogues with AI support
insufficient Fast Ethernet for Pure Stream or local 4/8K sources from NAS (often over 100 Mbit/s), external USB3/Gigabit Ethernet adapter required
Sony HT-A7000 soundbar does not always transmit IR commands to the TV (probably a soundbar problem, it is configured for this)
unlit remote control (neither of the 2), calling it an ECO solution is a strange alibism
the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar does not fit in front of/under the TV, it is not tightened, it has to lie on the legs of the TV
