After a few weeks of using the MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD monitor, I have to say that I am absolutely delighted. As an avid gamer and occasional graphics worker, I was surprised at how this monitor could satisfy both of my needs. Pros: Amazing image quality: With QHD resolution and Quantum Dot technology, colours are vivid and sharp, ideal for gaming and graphics. High refresh rate and fast response: 165Hz and 1ms GTG are great specs for gaming. Everything runs smoothly, no blurring of the image. Ergonomic design: The ability to adjust the height, tilt and swivel of the monitor is excellent for long hours of use without discomfort. G-Sync compatibility: As an NVIDIA graphics card owner, I appreciate the seamless compatibility and lack of image tearing. Wide viewing angles: Thanks to the IPS panel, sharing the screen with friends is no problem.
Game Features: Features like Night Vision and in-game OSD are useful and enhance the gaming experience.
Cons: Price: Although it is an investment, for some the price of the monitor may be higher. But given the performance and features, it is a justifiable investment. Factory colour settings: At first I had to adjust the color settings a bit to match my preferences, but that's common with most monitors. Overall, the MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD is an incredible monitor that I recommend to anyone looking for a combination of excellent performance, great features and high image quality. I'm thrilled I decided to go with this model, and highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their gaming or workspace.
The monitor already arrived with the latest firmware version, so it included a number of new colour profiles. Settings can be changed using the monitor's control interface or by using the app when connected to a PC with the supplied USB cable. In my case it was enough to select the sRGB profile, reduce the brightness and the colours are perfectly satisfactory. Compared to my previous 12 year old monitor, this is a great upgrade.
