Ubiquiti PBE-5AC-GEN2-5-EU
Ubiquiti PBE-5AC-GEN2-5-EU
The Ubiquiti PBE-5AC-GEN2-5-EU WiFi antenna provides wireless data transmission outdoors and connects to your router. The device operates in the 5150 to 5875MHz frequency range and supports the 802.11ac (WiFi 5) standard. Its parabolic design directs the signal with a 30° beamwidth and a gain of 25dBi. Operating modes include Access Point and Station. Dual polarisation and airMAX AC technology help deliver data transfer speeds of 450MB/s on the 5GHz frequency. It uses passive PoE for power and the total weight of the device is 2.22kg.
Key features of the Ubiquiti PBE-5AC-GEN2-5-EU WiFi antenna
- Antenna gain of 25dBi for long-range links
- IP54-rated construction for dust and moisture protection
- Beamwidth of 30°
- Supports the 802.11ac standard for fast data transfer
- Passive PoE power simplifies pole mounting
- Wind resistance up to 200km/h
- Dimensions are 420 × 420 × 230mm
Outdoor durability and construction
The construction resists external elements with its IP54 rating. Polycarbonate with UV stabilisation and powder-coated SPCC steel protect the internal components from degradation. The device can handle temperatures from -40 to 70°C. Wind resistance up to 200km/h contributes to the stability of the physical pole mounting. The product has passed salt spray, thermal shock, and vibration tests according to IEC standards.
Network parameters and wireless interface
The device uses one gigabit RJ45 ethernet port to connect to the local network. The wireless transfer speed on the 5GHz frequency reaches 450MB/s. The 802.11ac (WiFi 5) standard defines the communication protocol. Integrated management via a separate 2.4GHz radio makes configuration easy using the mobile app. The channel width in point-to-point mode uses values from 10 to 80MHz.
Signal performance and directionality
The parabolic antenna with 25dBi gain focuses the radiated power into a narrow beam. The 30° beamwidth limits the reception of unwanted interference from the surrounding environment. Dual polarisation transmission increases the data link's throughput. The signal range is 25000m with a direct line of sight between points. The directional properties are suitable for long-distance links.
Configuration options
The airOS operating system provides tools for detailed wireless link setup. Users have access to features like a DHCP server, routing, and ping watchdog. Diagnostic tools display packet error rates and signal strength in real time. Traffic management with burst support helps to optimise data flows in the network. The device supports secure SSH and HTTPS protocols for management.
Power and installation
Power is supplied via the included 24V passive PoE adapter. The power consumption is 8.5W. The package includes a mounting kit for pole attachment. LED indicators on the back show the power status and LAN port activity. The device complies with CE, FCC, IC, and RoHS certifications.
