TP-Link SM5110LSA-10, Omada

TP-Link SM5110LSA-10, Omada
The TP-Link SM5110LSA-10, Omada optical module extends the transmission distance in single-mode fibre optic lines up to 10km. The SFP+ transceiver operates at a transmission speed of 10.3125Gbps and uses WDM Bi-Di technology for bidirectional data transmission over a single optical fibre. Hot-swap support simplifies plugging into active elements on the fly without having to shut down the entire system. It complies with IEEE 802.3ae and SFF-8472 standards, transmitting data at 10,312.5Mbps over a 9/125µm single-mode fibre optic cable. The TP-Link SM5110LSA-10, Omada module optimises the optical network structure and reduces the amount of cabling required. The device operates reliably in a temperature range of 0 to 70°C at 10 to 90% humidity. Storage temperatures range from -40 to 85°C at up to 90% humidity. Weighing just 0.02kg, the module is CE, FCC and RoHS certified. Its compact dimensions make it easy to install in densely populated switches.

Key Features of the TP-Link SM5110LSA-10, Omada Module
- The transceiver transmits data at a speed of 10.3125Gbps
- WDM Bi-Di technology provides bidirectional transmission over a single optical fibre
- The device supports status monitoring using DDM
- Fibre optic transmission works over distances of up to 10km
- The design supports Hot Swappable exchange
- The module has a single Simplex LC connector
WDM Technology
The integrated WDM Bi-Di technology performs bidirectional data transmission over a single optical fibre. This method of communication reduces the financial cost of laying the cable infrastructure because it requires only one optical fibre instead of two standard conductors. The SFP+ module operates with a TX wavelength of 1,330nm for transmitting and an RX wavelength of 1,270nm for receiving the signal. It uses a single LC Simplex fibre optic connector for connection and works with single-mode fibres with a core diameter of 9µm and a cladding of 125µm.
Hot Swappable and DDM Functionality
The module supports hot-swapping, which allows it to be connected or disconnected without interrupting the operation of the network switch. The built-in Digital Diagnostic Monitoring function provides information about the current status of the optical transmission. The system thus monitors the operating temperature, supply voltage, and the level of transmitting and receiving power in real time. This gives the network administrator an immediate overview of the status of the entire line.
Module Compatibility
The transceiver complies with the 10G Small Form Pluggable Multi-Source Agreement standards. It works seamlessly with TP-Link switches that include 10Gbps fibre optic ports, such as the SG3428×, SG3452×, SX3008F or SX3016F. For proper bidirectional connection functionality, it requires the connection of the SM5110LSB-10 counterpart on the other side of the optical path.
