The role of a merchant on a Viking ship
In this board game, you take on the role of a Nordic merchant who seeks to establish trade links rather than fight. Your main task is to recruit a crew for your Knarr-type trading ship. This is not a fast longship for raiding, but a broad-bellied merchant vessel. You will not be plundering the settlements you find with bloodthirsty Vikings; instead, by discovering settlements, you expand the influence of your trade network and build business relationships. The goal is to gain as many victory points and as much fame as possible before your opponents do.
Recruiting a crew and chaining bonuses
During your turn, you choose between two basic actions, the first of which is recruiting Vikings. You place crew cards in front of you in groups according to colour and immediately receive rewards. Each subsequent time you play the same colour, you also activate the bonuses of all previously played cards. The second option is to send your crew to discover islands.
Using silver bracelets and managing resources
Viking bracelets, which function as currency, are a key element for activating income from discovered islands. The bracelets help you trigger additional actions and develop trade routes. As the ship's capacity is limited, it can hold a maximum of three of these valuable items. Correct timing of purchases and resource management will determine your overall victory.
