In the game, players take on the roles of leaders and try to win powerful characters over to their side. On the Fellowship side, they can summon heroes like Elrond, Arwen, Boromir, or Tom Bombadil. Sauron's ranks, on the other hand, are bolstered by the Witch-king of Angmar, the giant spider Shelob, or the terrifying Balrog. Acquired supporters bring key advantages that can instantly turn the tide of the conflict. The goal remains to completely cripple the opponent and take control of the game board.

Breakthrough help at the right moment

The game mechanics expand the possibilities of the base game with new strategic choices. During their turn, players use card drawing and point collection to recruit supporters. Each character has specific abilities that are activated at the right moment. Correctly timing the activation of abilities decides the success of the entire military campaign. The game thus requires constant planning and monitoring of the opponent's moves.

Cardboard and plastic game components

The package contains a total of 14 cards with illustrations by Vincent Dutrait. In the box, players will find 7 Fellowship supporter cards and the same number of cards for Sauron's side. Cardboard power tokens complement the plastic and paper game components. All components match the graphic style of the base game.
