The Sissel hydrotemp heats up simply in the microwave, which you set to 600-800 W and a time of 60 seconds. It can then be heated 2-3 more times for 20 seconds to increase its effectiveness. Then you can place the pillow directly on the skin or over a thin fabric. The Sissel hydrotemp gives off heat for approximately 30 minutes.
