OUTEQ FL2 is a rechargeable handheld LED torch with a dedicated diving mode and an IP68 rating. Unlike torches that are only splash-resistant, this one is designed for immersion, so you can use it underwater as well as for regular outdoor activities. Light for land and water
OUTEQ FL2 combines a handheld torch with a dedicated diving mode, so you can use it on land and underwater. The IP68 rating means the torch is designed for immersion, not just resistance to rain or splashing water. You'll notice the difference during recreational diving, night snorkelling, or working near water where a regular water-resistant torch isn't enough. If you're only looking for a light for dry outdoor use, you won't need this capability, but the robust body will still serve you well.
What the IP68 rating means underwater
The IP68 rating describes two things: complete dust resistance and the ability to withstand long-term immersion, unlike lower ratings which only account for brief splashes. The FL2 uses O-rings for sealing, which should be checked and kept clean before each dive. We do not state a specific immersion depth as a measured figure, as the rating is currently supported by the manufacturer's declaration; therefore, consider the torch as built for immersion according to the manufacturer, not as a tool with an independently verified depth limit. For recreational use near and under water, this is a significant difference compared to torches that can only withstand rain.
Five lighting levels and single-button switching
The torch is controlled by a side button and offers five modes: high, medium, low, strobe, and SOS. Use the high mode for maximum beam distance and the power-saving mode for reading a map or moving around a campsite where full power would be dazzling and unnecessarily drain the battery. The strobe and SOS modes are for signalling, such as for orientation on the water or calling for help. The manufacturer states a luminous flux of up to 1400 lm, and you can switch between modes with one hand, even while wearing gloves.
Replaceable 21700 battery and charging via the charging adapter
Inside the FL2 is a replaceable 21700 Li-ion cell with a declared capacity of 3000mAh. Because the battery isn't sealed inside the body, you can replace the cell itself after years of use or take a charged spare on longer trips, instead of buying a new torch. Charging is done via the charging adapter with a USB-A to USB-C cable, which you will find in the package. A single cell is sufficient for short-term use, but a charged spare is useful for multi-day expeditions.
Aluminium body with an anodised finish
The body of the FL2 is made of an aluminium alloy with an anodised finish that resists corrosion and helps dissipate heat during prolonged use at full power. It's because of this heating that a HOT warning is stamped on the head; after extended operation in high mode, hold the torch by its body, not the reflector. The coloured ring near the head makes it easy to quickly spot the torch in a backpack or among other gear. With dimensions of 156×43×30mm and a weight of 195g, the FL2 is a compact handheld torch that you can carry in one hand or in a jacket pocket.
