Weight
Medicine balls weigh between 1 and 15 kg. The 5-7 kg models enable the widest selection of exercises. Lighter medicine balls are suitable for children or for one-handed workouts.
Plastic, synthetic, or real leather?
- Synthetic leather - cheap, but intensive use causes it to peel and crack. Suitable for beginners.
- Real leather - durable (does not crack or peel even with frequent use), but expensive. Ideal for frequent use.
- Plastic - – particularly suitable for exercises where you throw the ball against the wall. Some even have a rubberised coating, so they don’t scuff the surface of the wall.
With or without handles?
A medicine ball with handles allows you to perform more exercises. On the downside, this type is more expensive. In contrast, medicine balls without handles have a more limited use, but also a lower price tag.
