The RASPBERRY Pi 3 single-board microcomputer is the successor of successful ARM-based computers. It was introduced on the day exactly four years after its first release and brings a number of new features, such as a more powerful processor and the wireless interface for WiFi and Bluetooth. Pi 3 supports a variety of operating systems and would be great as a multimedia center in the living room alongside your TV, and with a network card it would also be suitable for surfing the Internet.
The new feature is an integrated 64-bit processor with four 1.2-GHz Cortex-A53 kernels that will deliver about half more power than its predecessor. It works with 1GB of memory and VideoCore IV graphics chip, now clocked at 300MHz. For multimedia purposes, the device is equipped with composite output and an HDMI transmitting sound. Of course, it supports most available formats.
PI 3 is fully compatible with its predecessors. The same basic architecture, as in PI 2, ensures trouble-free operation of old projects you know from the earlier version. As for the connectors, it has four USB 2.0 ports and newly brings wireless WiFi 802.11 and Bluetooth 4.1 interfaces. Ther device features also a microSD card support for storage. The recommended power supply is a 2.5A adapter.
