Connecting a Portable Monitor

The vast majority of portable monitors can be connected to laptops by using a cable with a USB-C connector at each end, which provides both image transfer and power to the portable monitor. For this reason, you must check in advance whether your laptop supports image transfer via USB-C. It is common to connect a laptop to a portable screen using an HDMI connector, but you'll need to power the portable monitor with another cable. Some models also have additional connectors such as a miniHDMI or a miniDisplayPort for connecting a portable monitor to a laptop If you join the monitor via these, you'll need to charge it externally, just like if you connect via traditional HDMI.
