The baby bottle with the Natural Response teat faithfully imitates the way a baby sucks from the mother's breast. Milk does not flow from the bottle on its own; the baby must actively suck just like during breastfeeding.
Easy to combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding
Bottles with Natural Response teats are designed so you can easily combine bottle feeding and breastfeeding. The baby has to actively suck to get the milk. When they pause their sucking, the milk stops flowing from the bottle.

Choose the right teat
When feeding with milk from a bottle, it's crucial to choose the right milk flow. Every baby learns to eat at their own pace and their needs change. Some babies are happy with the teat marked with number 0, called 'First Flow,' before moving on to other teats with a higher flow rate. There are seven flow rates in total: 0 First Flow, 1 Very Slow Flow, 2 Slow Flow, 3 Medium Flow, 4 Fast Flow, 5 Very Fast Flow, 6 for thick feeds.

Philips Avent Natural Response teats now use updated recommended age labelling. However, when choosing, it is more important to focus on the teat's flow rate than the baby's age. This is because every baby sucks at a different pace and has different needs. If your baby is happy during feeding, drinking smoothly and without effort, you are using the correct flow rate. If they get fussy while drinking or if the milk flows out too quickly, we recommend choosing a different flow level that better suits their individual needs.
