The baby bottle with the Natural Response teat faithfully mimics the way a baby sucks from the mother's breast. Milk does not flow from the bottle on its own; the baby must actively suck just like during breastfeeding.
Easy to combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding
Natural Response bottles and teats are designed so you can easily combine bottle feeding and breastfeeding. The baby has to suck actively to get to the milk. When they stop sucking, the milk stops flowing from the bottle.

Choose the right teat
When feeding with a bottle, it's crucial to choose the right milk flow. Every baby learns to eat at their own pace, and their needs change. Some babies do well with the number 0 teat, called “First Flow”, and later switch to other teats with a higher flow. There are seven flows in total: 0 first flow, 1 very slow flow, 2 slow flow, 3 medium flow, 4 fast flow, 5 very fast flow, and 6 for thick foods.

Philips Avent Natural Response teats now use updated age recommendation labelling. However, when choosing, it is more important to focus on the teat's flow rate than on the baby's age. This is because every baby sucks at a different pace and has different needs. If your baby is happy during feeding, drinking smoothly and effortlessly, you are using the right flow. If they get fussy while drinking or the milk flows out too quickly, we recommend choosing a different flow level that will better suit their individual needs.
