The open-source QMK firmware means unlimited possibilities for remapping keys, macros, shortcuts and more. Every key can be easily customised using the Keychron Launcher web app. The keyboard offers a Mac layout while remaining compatible with Windows. It stands out by providing the same multimedia and function keys as an Apple keyboard for Mac users, but with better tactile feedback. The keyboard includes keycaps for both systems, along with extra Esc and Enter keys, which enables easy switching between operating systems.

Everyone has different typing preferences, which is why the K1 Max offers a hot-swap option, letting you easily change low-profile Gateron mechanical switches in seconds. The stabilisers have been redesigned to stay on the same level as the switches while ensuring greater reliability and less wobble on large keys like the spacebar, left Shift, Backspace, and Enter.
