Star Wars - Hoth Ostroma is a fast-paced wargame with miniatures that immerses you right into the events of The Empire Strikes Back. Play up to 17 scenarios on a double-sided game plan - from small shootouts to large-scale clashes, including the famous Shield Generator Attack. Each turn, you play Command Cards that activate your units, move them around the hex plan, and attack your opponent with special attack dice. Each side has different strengths - the Empire has giant AT-AT walkers and recon droids, while the Rebels use trenches, artillery and fast snow spiders capable of striking unexpectedly. The terrain on the map - rocks, trenches or buildings - plays a big role and can decide the victory. Unique commander cards like Darth Vader, Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker add special abilities and unexpected twists to the game.
Stages of individual moves
Mechanically, the game combines tactical movements on a hex plan with a simple but exciting combat system based on attack dice. Each turn is divided into clear phases - playing an order card, moving activated units and evaluating attacks. Players need to plan not only their positions, but also the timing of their actions, as successfully capturing key locations on the map often determines victory. Additionally, the Order cards determine how many units can be ordered in a given round, so even a simple decision can lead to dramatic twists and turns. Multi-scenario campaigns link individual battles into a story, where the outcome of each conflict affects the next. Each game is different and offers the opportunity to replay the legendary battle a little differently each time.

Star Wars - Hoth Ostroma is a social game designed by Richard Borg and Adrien Martinot, game designers known for their tactical games that combine simplicity with deeper strategy. Benjamin Carré, Christophe Duhaze, Tony Foti and Clément Masson contributed to the illustrations, giving the game an authentic look and feel true to the film. The game was released in 2025 under the Days of Wonder banner and the Czech edition was localized in the same year.
