In this worker placement game, players build their own forest cities, construct various buildings, attract new inhabitants, and take part in a variety of events. After passing through all the seasons until winter arrives, the player whose city has earned the most victory points wins. Everdell – Az Örökfa árnyékában has simple rules, yet offers satisfying strategic depth and almost endless replayability. The game is designed for 1–4 players aged 10 and over. Everdell – Az Örökfa árnyékában is a city-building game that combines worker placement with clever card combinations. Players use their woodland creature workers to gather resources, which they then use to play building and inhabitant cards into their city. A city can consist of up to 15 cards, each providing unique abilities, resources, or victory points. By linking them effectively, you can create powerful game combos and progressively develop your city.
Each season brings new opportunities
On their turn, a player has three options: place a worker on a free space to gain the corresponding resources or other rewards, play a card into their city, or prepare for the next season. It is this changing of the seasons that is one of the most interesting elements of the Everdell – Az Örökfa árnyékában game. When a player moves to the next season, they take back their placed workers and get new ones, while also unlocking new options and bonuses. However, players don't have to change seasons at the same time, so while one might be preparing their city for autumn, another could still be in summer. Therefore, timing the change of seasons correctly is an important tactical decision.
A multitude of strategies and high replayability
The card combinations offer players many strategies and an almost infinite number of ways to build their city.
