Build a successful industrial empire

Brass: Birmingham takes place across two eras – the canal era and the rail era. You gradually expand your business, construct industrial buildings and connect different locations using waterways and railways. On your turn, you perform two actions, such as building industrial sites, expanding your network, developing existing structures, selling manufactured goods, taking a loan or scouting for new opportunities. Each action requires discarding a card, making it crucial to plan how you use your cards. Managing resources like coal, iron and beer – all essential for industrial growth – also plays a vital role.

Brass: Birmingham board game

Two industrial eras, one winner

After each round of Brass: Birmingham, turn order is recalculated based on how much money players spent, and players receive income according to their economic status. At the end of the canal era, players score points for their established networks and developed industries. Some structures are then removed, clearing the way for the next era. The second era introduces railways and new development opportunities. Final scoring takes place at the end of this era, and the player who has built the most successful business with the most victory points wins.
