Wilckens Garage concrete floor paint, Garagen Boden Beschichtung 2,5 l, grey WI.11671100080
The Wilkens Garage Concrete Floor Coating 2.5L in grey (WI.11671100080) is a water-based, low-solvent and low-odour paint for both interior and exterior use. The coating is resistant to tyres, abrasion, oils, weathering and water. It is suitable for all mineral substrates, including concrete, screed, fibre cement boards and old roof tiles. The cured coating resists plasticiser migration from car tyres, which prevents localised flaking. The paint has good resistance to alkalis, acids, salts, engine oil, brake fluid, diesel and heating oil. It is also resistant to petrol for short periods. The paint is viscoplastic, with good resistance to UV radiation and weathering. All shades of the product can be mixed together, but it cannot be combined with other products.

Use
The paint is used to seal garage floors and normally-stressed mineral surfaces such as warehouses, industrial halls, workshops, balconies or cellars. Its resistance to abrasion, tyres and chemicals also makes it suitable for old fibre cement roof tiles and exterior surfaces. The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and free of rising damp. The paint can be applied with a brush or roller, with a recommended coverage of 6–7m²/L per coat.
Application process
The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and absorbent; mechanically remove old joints and non-cohesive layers. Concrete and screeds must have cured for at least 1 month. Roughen smooth surfaces, and use a pressure washer to remove moss and algae from exterior surfaces. For old coatings, check the adhesion, remove any loose layers and repair any defects. For problematic substrates or renovations, apply 1 coat of Wilckens 2C two-component primer to promote adhesion. Apply the paint evenly in thin layers with a brush or roller; 2–3 coats are recommended for concrete and screed and 1–2 coats for old paintwork. When using multiple containers, ensure the same batch. At 20°C and 65% relative humidity, the paint is dust-dry after 2 hours, touch-dry after 6 hours, walkable after 24 hours and fully loadable after 6 days. Lower temperatures and higher humidity will prolong drying times. Clean tools with soap and water immediately after use. Do not apply the paint at temperatures below +8°C or on hot surfaces exposed to direct sunlight.
