Attaching it to the motorcycle is simple, as is replacing the cartridge after activation. Activation occurs within 77–92ms. The mechanical design requires no recharging or maintenance. The protective elements of the Hit-Air MLV 2 vest may seem cumbersome, but in practice they do not restrict movement in any way. Adjustable internal straps allow you to customise the size to your body shape. The vest is made of 600D polyester, nylon straps and polyester mesh, complemented by reflective lumidex elements. Polyurethane was used for the airbag, and the part behind the activation mechanism is supplemented with visco-elastane.
Easy installation and use of the MLV 2 airbag vest
The motorcycle airbag vest works on a mechanical principle. It connects to the motorcycle frame under the seat or another suitable location using a carbon-kevlar cable. Activation is similar to a seatbelt – it only deploys in an actual fall. The deployment is calibrated to a force corresponding to a fall (usually from 30 km/h upwards). After activation, the vest deflates on its own within two minutes. It can then be prepared for use again: deflate the excess air, activate the mechanism with an Allen key and insert a new CO₂ cartridge.
