Roguecraft DX Evercade is the second standalone game released on cartridge for Evercade and a great example of how modern indie titles fit alongside retro classics. While the previous game, Full Void, was a reimagined title inspired by older games, Roguecraft DX was created specifically for the Amiga. Its original version was highly acclaimed, receiving the "Retro World" award at the Debug Indie Game Awards 2025 upon its release, and featured in magazines such as Amiga Addict, Retro Gamer, and Zzap! The Amiga regularly garnered ratings of over 90%.
STORY
Go through 15 levels
The story of the game is simple but enticing. You take on the role of an adventurer, warrior, mage or thief and your goal is to retrieve the mythical treasure hidden deep in the dungeons of Mordecoom. Fifteen levels await you, from the wilderness outside the entrance to a battle with a terrifying monster in the heart of the underground. Compared to the original Amiga version, which started in the dungeons and featured ten levels, Roguecraft DX has been expanded with five new locations, adding even more tension and possibilities.

Roguecraft DX Evercade is a traditional roguelike inspired by the original 80's classic Rogue. This means procedurally generated levels, permanent death without saving position and a turn-based combat system. Every choice and every step can determine your survival. At the beginning, you choose your character and gradually increase your health and strength by defeating enemies through special gems. In addition, random potion effects, dangerous enemies and treasures await you, which can be a real blessing, but also a trap in the form of bloodthirsty mimics.
PIXEL
The old familiar control
Roguecraft DX Evercade stands out because it retains the classic gameplay while bringing it to new players. The controls are very simple, you move with the directional crosshair, attack by simply entering enemies and control your inventory with a single button. Still, the game offers a high dose of challenge, beautiful pixel art graphics and an atmospheric soundtrack by tracker music legend Jogeir Liljedahl.
