Toad's journey is not a lonely one, Toadette is coming with him. However, it will not be easy, because unlike other video game heroes, neither of them has any super powers. They can't jump and they are scared of almost everything, but what they lack in ability they make up for in sheer willpower and determination to face their adventure head-on! They are going to have to make their way through many inhospitable places, solve a plethora of puzzles, and discover a variety secrets.

Toad and Toadette are trying to find the Power Star, a treasure stolen at the beginning of the game by a greedy bird named Wing. He is a constant thorn in our hero's side, and he even kidnaps Toadette! Help save Toadette, reclaim the treasure, and defeat Wing!
