Share your game screen to show what you're playing, and for a more personal experience, you can connect face-to-face via the Nintendo Switch 2 camera or other compatible USB-C cameras (sold separately). An internet connection, Nintendo Switch Online membership, and a Nintendo Account are required for online features, including GameChat. The Nintendo Switch 2 camera or a compatible USB-C camera is necessary for video functions.

Simply connect the console to a compatible TV and experience every detail with breathtaking picture quality, supported by HDR, VRR, and a frame rate of up to 120fps on supported TVs. 4K resolution, VRR, and HDR are available in games that support this technology, and for 4K output, the frame rate is limited to 60fps. To ensure everything runs without overheating, the dock is equipped with a fan that keeps the system at an optimal temperature and helps stabilise performance, even during long gaming sessions. Connecting to the TV is also simple; compatible TVs will automatically turn on when they detect the system being powered on in the dock, and thanks to Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) support, the TV will automatically switch to the correct input. With the Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) feature, you can even have your TV switch to game mode without any unnecessary waiting.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has a Built-in Microphone
With the Nintendo Switch 2, you can now easily stay in touch with your friends anytime, anywhere, thanks to the new GameChat feature. Whether you're playing on the TV, in tabletop mode, or handheld, voice chat is available directly on your system. Thanks to a built-in microphone that uses advanced noise-cancellation technology, you'll always be heard clearly, even in noisy or quiet environments. Additionally, you can easily start or join a GameChat during gameplay by pressing the new C button on the right Joy-Con 2 controller and control features like muting or leaving the chat. Up to four people can share their screens during a single GameChat session. If you want, you can also connect a camera for video chat, either via the built-in Nintendo Switch 2 camera or a compatible USB-C camera. And for easy compatibility checks, simply use the Test USB Camera function in the system settings.
GameChat open access period - until 31 March 2026, GameChat can be used without a Nintendo Switch Online membership. After this date, a Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required to use GameChat.
Compatible SD Cards
The Nintendo Switch 2 introduces a new way to expand your storage thanks to advanced microSD Express cards. This new memory card standard, sold separately, ensures much faster data access and thus smoother and more efficient game performance. Thanks to faster read and write speeds, microSD Express allows users to conveniently store more games, applications, and other files without any performance slowdown. It's important to remember that the Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards. If you used microSD cards in a previous Nintendo Switch model, these cards will not work with the Nintendo Switch 2 as they do not meet the new standard.
