Levels

In this game you will be navigating Luigi through some scary mansions that are occupied by ghosts. They might not be harmful, but they hide some secrets that wont Luigi’s task any easier.

To help Luigi catch them, he is armed with a special Poltergeist 5000 vacuum cleaner and a special Nintendo DS with a map. The vacuum cleaner allows Luigi to communicate with Professor E.Gaddem who can teleport him into each mansion.

First find the ghosts, who can be hiding within the objects and under the carpet. While some must first be dazzled by the flashlight, others you can get to after solving a puzzle.

Control

This single-player mode uses virtually all Nintendo 3DS controls. Luigi is controlled by the analog Circle Padem and the camera controls itself in three-dimensional space. Actions are triggered by the action buttons, but you can also use the in-built motion sensors.
 
You will need them essentially for looking through a crack or a lock in the door, and for aiming with the special vacuum cleaner. On the touchscreen console, you will find the outline of tasks, status, and maps of the environment or your home.

Audiovisual site

This version is completely 3D-based, just like a console game. The Stereoscopic 3D Effects have also been a success, and do not even disintegrate when using console motion sensors.
 
But even more remarkable than the cool graphics is the soundtrack of this version, which, along with lighting effects creates a great atmosphere in action scenes and in the humorous conversations with Professor E. Gaddem.
