The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16-55mm f/2.8 LM WR II lens for Fujifilm X-mount digital mirrorless cameras is designed for APS-C sensors and offers a focal length equivalent to 24 to 84 mm. FUJIFILM describes the new version as the pinnacle of excellence thanks to advanced technology, high optical performance and improved design. The lens offers higher resolution to fully exploit the potential of the latest 40megapixel sensors, while better suiting the demands of video shooting. New manufacturing methods such as precision polishing of optical components and improved machining have resulted in a significant reduction in size and weight. The lens is 11 mm shorter and approximately 37% lighter than the first generation. The diameter of the filter thread was also reduced to 72 mm.

No matter what focal length you choose, the maximum f/2.8 aperture gives you great performance even in low light. Plus, the curved 11lamel aperture gives you smooth, subtle and pronounced bokeh that enhances selective focus and shallow depth-of-field techniques, giving your photos a professional quality.

While the XF16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR II lens retains the exceptional sharpness of its award-winning predecessor, its optical design has been enhanced by the addition of an extra Super ED element. The element increases edge sharpness and significantly reduces chromatic aberration. Together with three extra-low dispersion lenses, it minimizes colour fringing and chromatic aberrations, ensuring high clarity and accurate colour reproduction throughout the zoom range.

Advanced aspherical lens technology for enhanced sharpness and better bokeh

The number of aspherical lenses has been increased by one, which helps to better control distortion and spherical aberrations, thereby increasing overall image sharpness. Thanks to advances in aspherical lens technology and their extremely fine machining, ring patterns in bokeh - artifacts that can appear in the background - are reduced. Even at maximum aperture, where zoom lenses often struggle, the lens delivers excellent results with ultra-fine detail.

Fast and silent autofocus with excellent macro shooting capabilities

Despite its compact size, the XF16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR II offers excellent autofocus performance. Thanks to a specially designed linear motor, focusing is smooth, nearly noiseless, and now even faster and more precise. The minimum focusing distance of 0.3 m and maximum magnification of 0.21× give you great opportunities for close-ups. Although the lens is primarily designed for photographers, it will also meet the needs of video makers. For the first time on an XF lens, a switch (Click Off) is available to deactivate the aperture ring lock, ensuring smooth and near-silent exposure control without clicking or vibration.
