Camera Impact Detection

Impact detection is a dashcam feature that automatically secures video footage in the event of an accident or other physical collision. For this function, the camera uses a G-sensor, an accelerometer. This sensor continuously monitors shocks and sudden changes in vehicle movement, such as those occurring during an impact, sudden braking, or even damage to a parked car. As soon as the G-sensor detects a force exceeding a preset sensitivity value, it instructs the camera to lock the currently recording file. The locked recording is protected against overwriting. This means that even if the camera records in a loop and starts deleting the oldest files after the memory card is full, this specific recording will remain saved.
