1/2-inch Sensor Size

The sensor size of 1/2 inch is an indication of the physical size of the image chip in the camera. This chip, or sensor, is the key component that converts the light passing through the lens into a digital image. The fraction of an inch designation, such as "1/2", does not directly correspond to the diagonal size of the sensor, but is a historical standard derived from older technologies. In general, the larger the sensor area, the more light it can capture. This has a direct impact on the quality of the resulting photos and videos, especially in low light conditions such as dusk or twilight. A sensor of this size also affects dynamic range, which is the camera's ability to render details in both very bright and dark parts of the frame simultaneously. It also allows you to work with a shallower depth of field, which means you can blur the background behind the main subject more effectively.
