The Eaton 91PS 10kW backup power supply uses online double-conversion topology for continuous protection of critical applications and sensitive equipment. It provides a real power output of 10000W with an apparent power of 10000VA, giving it a power factor of one. The design of this online UPS supports flexible installation with a three-phase or single-phase input and a single-phase output. The internal batteries with ABM technology can sustain a full load for 8 minutes, extending the backup time to 20 minutes at half load. The overall operating efficiency is 96%, rising to 98% in ESS energy-saving mode. A 5" LCD touchscreen and expansion communication slots are provided for control and monitoring.

The online double-conversion technology continuously protects connected devices by supplying a clean and stable sine wave to the output, regardless of the input mains condition. The unit provides a real power output of 10000W, corresponding to an apparent power of 10000VA. In ESS and eco-mode energy-saving modes, efficiency is around 98%. The unit's overall efficiency is 96%, with 95.5% efficiency at full load and 95.3% at half load.

Battery and protection features

ABM charging technology looks after the service life of the internal batteries. The batteries are not user-replaceable. The backup time can be extended by connecting external battery modules via a hardwired connection. It comes equipped with surge protection and deep discharge protection. The automatic shutdown function safely powers down systems in the event of a prolonged power outage.

Connectivity and sockets

USB and RS-232 ports are used for communication with computers and servers. Two free communication slots enable the installation of expansion cards, for example for network management (SNMP). Both the input and output are connected via a hardwired installation. One fully backed-up hardwired connection is available at the output. An integrated maintenance bypass simplifies servicing without needing to disconnect the load. The option to connect up to four units in parallel supports redundancy or an increase in total capacity.
