The AXAGON RSS-CD09 internal frame is designed to be installed in place of an existing CD/DVD drive with a height of 9.5mm. It is designed for 2.5" SSD/HDD SATA drives. This allows you to easily replace the optical drive in your laptop with a hard drive.

The SATA 6G interface lets you enjoy the speed of modern SSDs at up to 6Gb/s. Thanks to its simple electronics-free design, it doesn't slow down data transfer speeds and supports all modern features, such as TRIM. This caddy ensures wide compatibility with various laptop brands. The ODD frame can be adjusted using a dual switch to work with most laptops from brands like LENOVO, HP, DELL, ASUS, ACER, SONY, TOSHIBA and others.

The frame can accommodate standard 7mm high SSDs as well as 9.5mm high 2.5" hard drives. The ODD caddy, with a drive installed, behaves like a standard hard drive in the operating system and in the BIOS (UEFI). By inserting a drive into the caddy, you can easily add an internal 2.5" drive to complement the existing drive in your laptop. With boot support, adding a 2.5" SSD can significantly speed up an older laptop.

A unique screwless drive mounting system is secured with a rubber clip or rubber threaded inserts. The rubber inserts also help to minimise hard drive vibrations. Metal springs help to fix the adapter in the optical drive bay. The metal body of the frame is made of aluminium, ensuring perfect mechanical protection for the installed drive. A built-in HQ capacitor helps provide stabilised power to the SSD/HDD. An elegant, built-in LED indicates drive insertion and data transfer.

The package also includes a plastic faceplate (blanking plate) that mimics the front of an optical CD/DVD drive. The back of the caddy has several mounting holes to secure the frame inside the laptop body.
