The AXAGON EEM2-20G ARMORED is a high-speed external enclosure for M.2 NVMe SSDs, featuring a 20Gbps USB interface. A reliable connection is ensured by the reversible USB-C connector on the enclosure. The package includes a USB-C -> USB-C cable to connect the enclosure to your computer. Thanks to the 20Gbps USB interface, the transfer speed reaches up to 20Gb/s. To take full advantage of the enclosure's speed, the controller of the connected device must be compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2. These controllers are typically used in gaming laptops and modern desktop computers. The external M.2 enclosure also supports other modern features, such as UASP, TRIM, and allows reading of S.M.A.R.T. information monitoring the drive's health. It supports a power-saving mode during inactivity. The enclosure has the advantage of supporting four different SSD lengths – 30, 42, 60, and 80mm. Both single-sided and double-sided M.2 drives are supported. The enclosure has no capacity limit for the inserted SSD. Opening the enclosure with a single screw makes installing and removing the M.2 SSD easy. Swapping drives is quick and simple, which expands the enclosure's potential uses for data migration, testing, and more. A higher surface temperature of the enclosure is not a defect; thanks to the aluminium body, the heat generated by the drive's operation is better dissipated and transferred to the surroundings.

The enclosure's aluminium body and thermal pad ensure very good cooling for the inserted M.2 SSD. The vents on the sides ensure sufficient air circulation. This extends the drive's lifespan and also prevents speed throttling caused by so-called thermal throttling. Another benefit is the silicone sleeve, which provides better protection for the enclosure against impacts, prevents it from sliding on the table, and ensures a comfortable grip. The outer metal casing is finished in black with an elegant surface that prevents unwanted fingerprints.
