The AXAGON ADR-220 active USB 2.0 extension cable, with a length of 20 metres, is the ideal tool for connecting your computer to a USB device such as a mouse, keyboard, webcam, printer, scanner, plotter, and more. The active USB repeater cable amplifies the signal passing through, letting you connect USB devices over a much greater distance than a passive cable allows.
If needed, you can connect several cables in a series to extend its reach even further. A major advantage of the ADR-220 cable is its integrated connector for auxiliary power. In most cases, power from the USB bus is sufficient, but for devices with higher power consumption over longer distances, the USB power may be inadequate. Auxiliary power from the mains can solve this problem.
The exceptionally compact body of the repeater cable allows for hassle-free use in electrical trunking or cable management systems. The high-quality shielded cable guarantees high-speed communication and minimal unwanted interference.

Power:
- The cable and connected devices are powered via the USB bus (bus-power mode 5V–500mA).
- For most connected USB devices, power from the USB bus is sufficient and no additional power is needed.
- The active part of the cable includes a connector (Ø 3.5×1.3mm outer × inner diameter) for additional external power of 5V/1–2A.
- A 1.2m USB A-M / 3.5mm jack power cable is included in the package. The cable allows for powering from a standard mobile phone charger with a USB-A output of 5V/min. 1A, e.g. the AXAGON ACU-DS16.
- When the repeater cable is powered by a power adapter, you can also connect an external 2.5" drive without needing its own power supply.
- For longer USB runs with several repeater cables connected in a series, the USB bus power may be insufficient even for USB devices with lower power consumption than an external 2.5" drive. In this case, boosting the power by connecting a power adapter can also help.
