The SIXTOL refractometer is specially designed for checking a car's operating fluids. It determines the physical properties of a liquid by measuring the refractive index at the boundary of the medium. It can be used to identify the battery charge level and the freezing point of coolants based on propylene glycol or ethylene glycol, as well as the freezing point of windscreen washer fluids. The package also includes a pipette and a cleaning cloth, so you have everything you need to take a measurement.

Package contents:

Instructions for use:
1. Use the pipette to draw a small amount of liquid.
2. Lift the cover plate and apply 2–3 drops of liquid to the device's prism.
3. Lower the cover plate back down so that the measured liquid is spread evenly over the prism surface without any air bubbles.
4. After 30 seconds, point the cover plate towards a light source and look into the eyepiece.
5.The image needs to be focused using the focusing ring. Read the position of the light/dark boundary on the appropriate scale, which indicates the properties of the liquid.

Range: -50–0°C, accuracy: ±5°C
Freezing point of propylene glycol-based coolant:
Range: -50–0°C, accuracy: ±5°C
Density of battery electrolyte:
Range: 1.10–1.40g/cm³, accuracy: ±0.01g/cm³
